No one is given a handbook for navigating life’s challenges. At times, life can feel overwhelming, and reaching out for support is one of the most courageous steps a person can take. I deeply value the trust it takes to seek help, and I strive to create a therapeutic environment where you feel safe, respected, and empowered throughout the process.
As a therapist, I believe the foundation of meaningful therapy is a relationship built on trust, autonomy, collaboration, and informed consent. I approach therapy with the understanding that each individual’s experiences and needs are unique. Together, we will work to better understand your concerns, identify what has or has not been helpful for you in the past, and develop a treatment plan tailored to your goals and values. I will meet you where you are and move at a pace that feels comfortable and supportive for you. While I bring clinical knowledge and guidance, I believe you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to help you uncover the insight, tools, and strengths that can support your healing and growth.
Hello, I’m Katherine. Although I earned my Master of Social Work from Western Michigan University in 2025, my journey in the social work field began in 2018. Throughout my experience, I have developed a passion for working with individuals, couples, and families as they navigate life’s challenges and pursue meaningful change. I utilize an integrative approach to therapy, recognizing that every person, couple, and family has unique experiences and needs.
My professional training includes certification coursework through the SPADA Addictions Studies Program at Western Michigan University, Gottman Method Couples Therapy Level 1 training, and Motivational Interviewing.
One area I am especially passionate about is supporting individuals who are currently involved in—or recovering from—high-control groups, religious trauma, or cult-related experiences. The process of deconstructing beliefs, rebuilding identity, and healing from these experiences can be deeply complex and personal. I aim to provide a compassionate, nonjudgmental, and safe space where you can begin or continue that process with support and understanding.
