I am so glad that you have taken the first step to finding balance and healing in your life. For most, it takes a series of events before an individual begins the search for a counselor. My first master’s degree is in Communication. I am excited to share ideas and tools that can be used in a variety of life situations. Currently, I am in my final year of graduate school at Western Michigan University in the Marriage, Family and Couples area of Counseling Psychology department. Communication is often the number one complaint in relationships of all kinds. I am excited to work with you from this perspective as well as the perspective my counseling training offers.
I have completed phase 1 and phase 2 of Gottman Marriage Counseling Training Program. With this knowledge, I have tools and ideas that will help you find balance within your various relationships as well as finding balance within your own mind and body. I have also completed phase 1 and phase 2 of Brainspotting Training. In Brainspotting, we believe that where we look affects how we feel. I am trained to help clients' process emotional issues or trauma in order to help the brain heal itself while bringing awareness to physical sensations.
I approach counseling though a multicultural lens and I believe that the client is the expert on the client’s life. I utilize mindfulness-based techniques in order to empower my clients to take the time they need to breathe, consider options, and take the first step toward healing. Together, we can work to move you to the place you long to be.
